The rule in one sentence
Dental care professionals must complete a set number of verifiable CPD hours over a five-year cycle (75 for hygienists, therapists, orthodontic therapists and clinical dental technicians; 50 for dental nurses and dental technicians), with at least 10 hours in any two-year period, a personal development plan, and a CPD statement at every annual renewal.

Help with reflection
The coach asks what you learned and how it changes the way you work. You write the answer.
Breathe. Here’s your plan, week by week.
The GDC checks CPD records both at random and where a statement is missing or looks short. Being asked for your record is not an accusation; it is a request to see the PDP, log and provider evidence you are already required to keep. Records can be requested for up to five years after the activity, so file evidence as you go.
What about MyGDC?
MyGDC is where you make your annual CPD statement. It doesn't hold your evidence. Your PDP, activity log and certificates are yours to keep for five years after the cycle ends. RiverCPD keeps them in one place, ready to download if the GDC asks.
