The rule in one sentence

Members must complete at least 20 hours of CPD each calendar year, at least 10 of them structured, cover each of three mandatory topics (professional and ethical standards; sustainability; AI, data and technology) at least once every rolling three years, and record and declare it online by 31 January.

Breathe. Here’s your plan, week by week.

Every member's record is visible to RICS Regulation, and a sample is reviewed in detail each year. If yours is chosen you may be asked to show what you learned from your structured activities. Keep certificates or notes of learning outcomes with each entry and the review is straightforward.

What about the RICS online system?

RICS asks you to record and declare online through its own system by 31 January. Keep your learning in RiverCPD as you go, learning outcomes and mandatory topics included, then transfer it before you declare.
