The rule in one sentence
Registered practitioners must complete their board's minimum CPD hours each registration year (physiotherapy 20; occupational therapy 20 incl. 5 interactive; psychology 30 incl. 10 peer consultation; podiatry 20 incl. 5 interactive), keep records for five years, and declare compliance at renewal by 30 November; Ahpra audits random samples throughout the year.

Ahpra audits random samples of practitioners throughout the year on behalf of the Boards. If selected, you receive a postal notice with a checklist and have 28 days to supply evidence of the CPD you declared at your last renewal. Having a complete, exportable portfolio ready turns an audit into a ten-minute task.
What if my association has its own platform?
Ahpra doesn't prescribe a system: you keep your own portfolio for five years. Some associations run their own, but most don't make you use it. Record in RiverCPD and download your portfolio whenever Ahpra asks for evidence.
