The rule in one sentence
Since 1 November 2023 ICAEW members fall into one of three CPD categories requiring 40, 30 or 20 hours per CPD year (1 November–31 October), with a verifiable minimum of 30/20/10 hours in practice or 15/10/5 outside practice, including at least one hour of ethics, confirmed on membership renewal and checked by random sample.

Help with reflection
The coach asks what you learned and how it changes the way you work. You write the answer.
Breathe. Here’s your plan, week by week.
ICAEW's monitoring is a random sample each year, handled by its Quality Assurance Department. You are asked to describe your role, so the reviewer can confirm your category, and to share the record you already keep. Nothing is required unless you are asked.
Do I have to use ICAEW's CPD tool?
No. ICAEW has its own tool, but any format is acceptable provided your verifiable activities are evidenced. Keep your record in RiverCPD and download it if you're selected.
