The problem
When a client asks who's competent, the answer shouldn't take a week.
Today
Training records sit in a spreadsheet, and certificates sit in inboxes.
What it costs
When a client, an insurer or a regulator asks who's competent for the work, someone spends days finding out. Expired competence goes unnoticed.
With RiverCPD
One record per person, kept up by the people doing the work, with an expiry date on every competency.
What you get
Who holds what, and until when.
Everything you need to show a client, an insurer or a regulator that your people are competent for the work they do.
Your organisation, mapped
Divisions, departments and teams, and an organisation chart everyone can find their way around. Each person belongs to one team, and managers see their own.
A competency framework that tracks itself
Define the competencies your roles need. Staff earn them through recorded learning, or you grant them. Each has a status and an expiry date: Active, Expiring or Expired.
Targets by team and by person
Set learning targets for a team or a role, with minimums by subject area. See who's on pace and who's falling behind.
A view for every manager
Managers see their team's progress, set development goals with a date for a progress report, and follow up on what's due.
Records people keep themselves
Staff photograph a certificate and it becomes a record, with the evidence attached. An AI coach helps them explain what they learned. It never writes it for them.
Audits when you need them
Sample your people's records, review them entry by entry, and keep every decision.
Construction
Building Safety Act competence, on record
Under the Building Safety Act, dutyholders must have the skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours for their role. The competence frameworks for principal designers and principal contractors are published as PAS 8671 and PAS 8672 (BSI).
RiverCPD lets you build those competencies into your framework, record the learning and experience behind them, and show a client or the regulator who holds what, and until when.

Work accounts
Staff sign in with their work account through OpenID Connect. For people without a work email, we provide a simple sign-in portal. We never hold a password.
