For associations / How it works
From spreadsheet to your first audit, step by step.
You bring your CPD scheme. We do the set-up. Here's what happens, who does what, and how long it takes.
The timeline
What happens, and who does it
| Step | You | Us | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Scheme review | Send your CPD policy, or answer the questionnaire | Read it, and flag anything unclear or hard to audit | 1 week |
| 2. Set-up | Approve the set-up in a walkthrough call | Build your categories, targets, custom fields, audit rules, quality standard and export templates, in your brand | Up to 1 week |
| 3. Sign-in | Give us access to your member portal's sign-in settings, or choose MemberWeb | Connect single sign-on and test it with your staff | Depends on your portal developer |
| 4. Members and history | Choose: import your members and their existing records (everyone's history is there on day one, and everyone imported is billed from year two), or let accounts create themselves as members sign in (you pay only for those) | Import whatever you choose | About 5 days, longer if your data needs cleaning |
| 5. Launch | Send the launch email we draft for you | Provide launch materials: an email, a one-page guide and a short video for members | Launch day |
| 6. Renewal and audit | Watch progress, nudge, run your audit round | Support, and a review call after your first renewal | Ongoing |
Not sure what your scheme should require?
Many associations start with "our members should do some CPD" and very little else. That's fine. Our CPD scheme design guide walks through the decisions: points, hours or reflection; cycle length; what counts; how you'll audit. We'll help you turn the answers into a scheme you can defend.
Sign-in
Members sign in with the login they already have.
RiverCPD connects to your member portal using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, the same standard behind "Sign in with Google". Members click "Log in", sign in on your portal as usual, and arrive in their CPD record. We never see or store their password. If you don't have a member portal, we provide one, built on MemberWeb, our membership platform.
For your IT team
OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect with PKCE. Profile fields sync at each sign-in, and members are matched by membership number, then by email.
What your members see on day one
- An email from you, with a link to log in
- Their scheme and targets, already set up
- Their past records, if you imported them
- The app, found by a link or QR code, or by typing your scheme's code
- The AI coach, ready on their first entry
